SUGGESTIONS/PROBLEMS

Right, hello everyone

It seems to me that there are a lot of people unhappy about the site, and for what it's worth, me and Andrew have been trying as hard as we can to make this the best place that it could possibly ever be, we have tried to make everyone as happy as they can be and given everything we can.

We've changed things, added new positions, added new claims, made new graphics, new sections of the site for you to use. Literally put everything in here. All my frees in school are dedicated to making this place look as good as it can do, as I don't have the software at home, all of Andrew's frees go on recruiment for this place so you can have so many people to post with.

And I've just got to say it really hurts me to see people leaving, every user matters to me and it upsets me when people leave. Especially after I think we've tried to be as accomodating as possible to everyone.

Since (obviously xD) we haven't been doing a good enough job, then I would like you guys to tell us some suggestions of what we can do here, because I don't want to have to close this place, it's personal for me and Andrew for a lot of reasons, and it's still a nice place for most of you here.

So if you wish reply below with something that we could do, and please, don't be mean we're seriously asking for help to make this place better for you.

I just wanted to say that I love that you guys are trying so hard to make everyone happy. It's nice to know you guys care so much! I personally don't have any complaints as I think you guys have been handling everything being thrown at you so wonderfully!

Hmm, perhaps a suggestion while I'm commenting, though it's nothing big. Maybe a little clean up of all the old posts (especially class posts) is in order. It doesn't bother me really, and I'd go about cleaning up my own, but I forgot what we were supposed to do for that! D:

So again, you guys are doing great, and I hope other people try hard to make the community here fun for themselves and everyone else!

You know you guys (Abi and Andrew) the site is perfectly fine. There are no issues at all with the site that I can think of. I personally believe people leave because life happens. They're busy, or they have something new to deal with.


Personally, what would probably be good is to have more admins, or moderators. I say this simply because most of the arguments occur in the chatbox and so forth, so I figure that you two are around the same time zone, and that can be a downfall sometimes when the arguments occur when you are unable to monitor. :C I know this from experience when I see things get out of hand and then later when you guys appear, it's either gotten more terrible, or cooled down to were you can't do anything about it. That'd be my only suggestion, it'd benefit you two, and would also benefit the individuals here to have a moderator.

That's all I can think of :3

I have to agree with Tess(y) on having mods. They come in handy when it comes to clearing and kicking out. So they're a little like the second degree of admins but just not as awesome

Occasionally, it also benefits my small amount of confidence :3 just kidding. On some sites it's the professor but then at those sites it's only Hogwarts so that wouldn't be fair and there'd be too many mods at that point so, when it comes to picking mods it should be people that you trust. Essentially, people you knew before the site.

You guys are doing/have done a wonderful job in having created and maintained a not only a website but a world that enthralls one entirely so as to make them forget that they are not this witch, wizard or supernatural being doing most extraordinary feats one may only dream of. To me the 'Harry Potter' universe has never seemed more real as it does now thanks to you!

Perhaps it is because I have never been affected by anything negative on this site but the only thing I can think of is maybe have to war hit close to home.

Example:

Let the lessons begin and then an admin can jump into a post saying something like "The classroom was suddenly rocked by a huge explosion dust, debris, and large heaps of wall come raining down on the students below."

And have them play out what they do next while posting something like "From somewhere down the corridor an explosion could be heard, the impact shook the room." in other classrooms until the entire school is involved effectively making them defend the school and tend to the wounded.


Mean while, at the other school put them on alert for any retaliation such as escorts between classes or canceled classes and students must remain indoors.

That's all I can think of really, because the site is truly perfect, this is just an idea to make the war more real.

I truly did not expect such lovely nice comments! Only because when I've done this before on other sites it's not really been a big hit with other people and I've ended up getting mountains of abuse xD

But everything that you've said we can definately do for you!

I'll get on putting old posts into the forum at the bottom of the page so the site is a bit clearer ^^

Me and Andrew will have a little talk about who we feel we can trust and hopefully come up with 2 other people we feel could be Moderators, and owl them to see if they would be okay with taking the postion

And definately when the next holidays roll up we'll be thinking of doing some more attacks to bring the war plot back into the fore of the site like it should be

I can't even begin to describe how perfectly wonderful this site is. It constantly keeps me away from things I should be doing (cough Homework cough). And that's why it's so awesome.

I just wanted to mention that a lot of character's plotlines on here involve children too young to go to Hogwarts within the first round's seven years. I think it would be really cool to allow children characters - for example, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters that instead of posting them in your own post, have their own characters that can post individually. I reckon it would open up more doors and give plots a bit more freedom.

But aside from that, this place is quite literally THE Harry Potter Universe. It's so flipping brilliant and it makes me feel special and like my dad really had been burning my Hogwarts letters all those years

Tell me about it, my coursework has gone out of the window for the moment while I work on this place
But oh well what does school matter anywhoosle? xD

That's a very good idea and I think that we can do that for you, like, today actually so that's another great suggestion

It's true that there are a lot of people with children that might not be at Hogwarts yet and it would be a good idea for them to be able to have threads with them, as posting with yourself is not fun xD

i love this site, but unfortunately health issues have made it hard for me to really get as active as I would like. I am hoping to figure out a bit more as I recuperate and maybe be able to intermingle with fellow Durmstrang students. I am unsure sometimes just where my character can step in and when to stay quiet. I think this is a great sight, not just for the magical Harry Potter side, but as a writer it helps me learn to put emotions and thoughts into words that others will be able to follow, and also to edit my thoughts (not doing to good am I?)

Thank you so much for this wonderful world of mystery, magic and adventure. You really make my day when I can get on and read, learn and interact with others. I don't get to a lot in real life cuz of the previous mentioned issues.

I think that the class list, or register, in each start of class post should be do-able for all the Professors if they are up for the change, I'll owl them to ask them at a later date

It's a good idea because then you can see if you're meant to be in the class or not, straight away

I really love this site it's awesome and amazing! I use it as an escape from my personal life (Which I need to get back too ^^) but I just love this site SO much, and I don't want it to be closed down.

Suggestion: You can ignore it if it sounds horrible.
I've seen a few adults that have a spouse, this is kinda like the Children section but for spouses they can either work with their spouse or not and they can post their own thread or they can open up their own shop things like that.

I really love this website, it is the best, funnest thing ever. My friends have begun to mock me about it though because I still don't have a facebook account and yet I've found a 'dumb' and 'obscure' (having trouble saying next part) 'Harry Poophead' ( ) website. I quite honestly think they're jealous because they and Twilight aren't cool enough to get such an awesome website made and maintained by such awesome people! I mean look at what they did to poor Cedric for revenge! He sparkles!

In short I love this site and would shrivel up and die without it!

My only suggestion is to have hospitals and ministries so there can be doctors and Aurors!

All this support is going to make me want to try even harder to make the site better!

Were chasing up on your suggestion Sam, but it sounds interesting and hopefully it's something that we will be able to incorporate into the site in some way

With regards to the Ministries we might be able to open up a very basic one until we get more members, and we could definately create a hospital in the hang outs for beakers to use!

Once again thank you both and I'm so so glad that this site means so much to everyone, and I will strive to make sure that it stays that way for as long as it's running

I think the some of the only things I would add is that I would delete 'guest' posts and make sure to update things. I've seen a few of them around (classes, Verstand common room) and the site does look a lot nicer without them! For updating things, I noticed that the Durmstrang student list does not include myself or Hugo. So I think it would help to just keep it updated. As such, I think this site is amazing and so well worked on. You guys are doing a great job!

Dimi I have looked around and deleted as many guest posts as I can see
I know that it looks a lot better without them, it makes the place look all cluttered and inactive, which it sure isn't
I've updated the student lists too

Alice! That's a really good idea!
If we have some people wanting to be ghosts then that would be amazing, it would give people a chance to be characters from the books too, if they wanted, as the ghosts would still be present

I'll ask Richard about the possibility of opening these positions up!

I'm afraid it's up to the users if they want to make elves as their characters

But in our recruitment we could mention we want more creatures if it's something that you feel strongly about
We tend to focus on just filling up the schools however for the most part of the year

I'm happy about the site but then again I just joined recently

Guy your doing great job. My issue is that I enjoy your site. But sometime well I have work but sometime hope on to see if I got message. Then some time I need break because I recently lost my cat with cancer. It depression slightly. But I did get on to rp and thank you for add shop. I hope to get student and adult that would shop there.
