Lesson Four: First Years Empty Lesson Four: First Years

Post by Jessica James Mon Mar 26, 2012 6:55 pm

JJ walked into her class room. She walked over to the board. She wrote 'Gripping charms.' She knew them to be very useful. She thought the would be good to know for her classes. She also knew that if any of her students liked quittich they would love this charm. She pulled a few Quaffles out and but them on the desks. One each. She smiled. If all want well they may get to have a pick up game as a end of the year treat.

She sat on her desk looking over her class list. She hopped everyone showed up. If they didn't they would be missing out on some fun.

Sam walked inside the classroom and smiled she looked around and noticed there was quaffles on the desks Sam shrugged and gave the professor a small smile.

" Good Morning, Professor" Sam said and walked to the desks in the back she never liked sitting up at the front she liked the back better, Because you could see the board better, and it was much quieter and no one really paid any attention to you.

Eva walked into class seeing a girl she had never seen before, she sat with her. She gave the professor a small smile as she sat. She was very tired today. She looked at the quaffle and wondered what they were doing.

"Hi" She said brightly to the other girl. Her ever present smile on her face.

Sam jumped when someone sat next to her and spoke no one ever sat next to Sam, Sam turned and gave her a half forced smile " Hi" Sam mumbled and looked at the ground, when she saw Anne come in Sam sighed and looked at a wall instead.

Jaycie scurried into her Charms' lesson, forever in fear of being late. She passed two Gryffindor girls and made her way to her usual window seat, wondering if Alcyone would be in this class. She like Alcyone. Alcyone was nice to her.

Jaycie nodded shyly to the professor, retrieving her things from her bag and waiting for the lesson to start.

Teresa walked in, walking straight to the front seats and looked at the board.

"Gripping charms," she said. She tried to remember what she read about them. But, she could always do that later, so see watched the students behind her.

Damien wanted to make sure that he was not late for Charms or he would never hear the end of it from Tessa. She still harassed him over the classes he missed last week. Walking into Charms he noticed the teacher had some Quaffles on her desk and a note on the board that said gripping charms.

That was a very useful spell, except he didn't play. Seeing where Tessa was sitting he walked over to her and sitting in the chair that sat next to her.

"Hello Beautiful." Damien said with a smile

"I am assuming that the teacher hasn't told you whats going on today. Anyway she has some quaffles on her desk with the words gripping charm on the board."

Damien was glad the last week of class had started he was ready for it to be over, he was just going to have to figure out how to see Tessa.

Tessa noticed that Damien was sitting beside of her. “ Oh Hello, I thought you would still be mad at me.” She then blinked. “ What are we doing today and what is a quaffles?” This was something new to her and didn’t' know what it was.

She was glad this was the last week. But she wouldn’t' get to see Damien anymore until next year.

Damien smiled "I quite remember telling you that even if I was mad I would still sit by you, your still girlfriend, right? Besides I am not mad at you anymore."

Looking around the room to see if it looked like it was going to start soon, not looking like it was he continued.

"We are going to practice what is called a gripping charm, it helps you hold onto things. and a quaffle is the ball they use in Quidditch to score the goals."

Tessa smiled when he reminded her again that she was his girlfriend. It made her happy, just thinking about it. And where they started from.

She then found out what a grip charm was. And it sounded like something that she could use in everyday life. “ What is Quidditch?” This was something new and she had never heard of the game before.

Damien was wondering how much longer before the teacher would start class he really didn't feel like getting in trouble for talking or anything.

"Quidditch is a game with balls and goals. I really don't like the game. 5 people fly around on brooms while one of them tries to catch a really fast little ball with wings.. While two others are hitting a ball called a blugger towards people, while three others are trying to throw the quaffle into the hoops for a score."

Damien hated the sport but knew how it was played.

Tessa then started to blink. “ That sounds like muggle basketball.” It was making sense to her, and she at least knew the idea of the game. It sounded like it would be fun, she wished that she could watch a game of it.

“ Wow I might have to go sit on a game.”

JJ sighed deciding that none of her other students were coming. She looked at the class that had assembled.

"Welcome to the last charms lesson of the year." She smiled. "I thought we might have a bit of fun today." she told them.

"Now in front of you you have a quaffle. We are going to use a griping charm on them. Then once everyone is done we might if we have time. Go and play a game of quittich." She smilled at them. They didn't have to but it could be fun.

"Now the charm is rather simple. Fortis tenaci" she said making a circular movment around the quaffle in her hand. She then tossed it lightly to Teresa.

"Now you all try. remember the incantation is fortis tenaci and mke a cirular movement around the ball." she said to her class. Moving between them.

Sam nodded and pointed her wand at the quaffle " Fortis Tenaci" she said and moved her wand in circalur motion it didn't work she sighed and said it agian and moved her arm a little slower and the gripping charm worked.

Smiling, Sam was glad it worked but she wondered if they would play quidditch she hoped they would.

Teresa caught the quaffle in her arms, looking at the professor. She set it on table she was sitting at. Then a girl used the spell on the ball. The first time failed, but the second time was a charm.

Teresa tried it, too. "Fortis tenaci," she said, moving her wand in a circle. Unsurprisingly, it work. She was glad she could control her magic well, for a first year.

Xander grimaced. Another tardy. He just couldn't get a grip on this round of lessons.

Slipping in the back of class, he grabbed the first chair he saw. He didn't know the new teacher very well, but he didn't expect her to go easy on him. Quite the contrary. He expected to be made an example of.

He shook himself and tried to focus on the lesson. Brooding and sullen were not Slytherin traits.

Tessa was sitting there, she knew that they was practicing the gripping charm. And the was passing a quaffle around. She knew that she couldn't see it when it would come her way. One of the downfalls of being blind. But she really wasn't paying much attention.

She was sitting there when it came at her and hit her in the face. Tessa really didn’t' know how to react, but it did hurt. Yasmina then woke up and looked at Tessa. Tessa could feel a little bit of blood from her nose. She wanted to cry, but not in front of everybody.

Jaycie picked up the quaffle in front of her, examining it curiously. She'd never seen one before. It looked pretty cool. Pulling out her wand, she bit her lip (again, now she was getting paranoid about whenever she did it!) and tap her wand on the desk.

Lifting the quaffle at arm's length, and moving the wand around it in a circular movement, she muttered, "Fortis Tenaci," very clearly but quietly. Suddenly the ball was sticking to her hand. She giggled a bit... it felt funny.
