Description Empty window shopping in town

Post by Annika Bauermeister Wed May 09, 2012 6:50 pm

Now that classes were through for the week, Annika decided to take off for a while and just get away from the school and be on her own. She had noticed that she was losing weight and her skirts were starting to get loose so she walked toward the clothing store she had noticed last trip. It was her plan to buy a couple of new drindle skirts, blouses and strumpfen to wear in colors other than black white and grey (which was all she had brought from home).

She quietly walked through rows and rows of shelves and racks looking at the beautiful colors and newest styles. Some of them she just knew she couldn't wear, especially the ones that were cut lower or had no sleeves. It wasn't she had any objection to them personally but she had been in an accident when she was little and had a very visible scar on her upper chest across to her shoulder that embarrassed her terribly. Papa had never spoken of it and all Mama said is that it was from an accident but always abruptly changed the subject. One day Oma had started to explain, but stopped when Papa came into the room. Just another mysterious chapter in the Bauermeister family history that Annika didn't have answers too.

Pausing in front of a beautiful green drindl skirt with a forest green corset, long sleeved cream blouse and matching ribbons she decided that she just had to have it. Luckily it was the size that fit her now and she had enough left from her parents to buy it and new strumpfs and brogans. She paid for her items and left feeling really good hoping that if she wore this she wouldn't look too much out of place.

Before she left town, she stopped at the owlery and sent her letter to her family, then to the Eis shop to have a Spghetti Eis and cookie before heading back to school. Luckily the weather was good, because the place was packed and she had to take a seat in the courtyard over looking the hauptmart. It was good to be here and away from school for a change so she took her time.
