The death of innocence (Cobie, Char and Viktor)

Even as Cobalt half-led, half-dragged, Charlotte through the halls of the school towards the Slytherin common room he knew that their pursuer was getting closer. Deciding that the common room, which was probably already locked down to keep the students inside safe, he opened the door to the Cold Room and lead Charlotte in. He sighed a little bit as he put his pistol away and instead just held onto his wand. He gestured for Charlotte to back further away from the door,

"Back up a bit Char..." he told his daughter in a whisper, his breath coming in cold clouds as he spoke, "I don't know what will happen next but if you get the chance... you run okay?"

Charlottes double had been dragged out of the trophy room, she had been taken to some other room that was a little bit creepy but she didn't really know why she was being brought here, now she was away from her actual self she had become stronger, more like a person and less like the hologram she actually was.

Doing nothing but blink she moved obediently to one side, Charlotte had told her that she must do what Cobalt Smith said, that she must do what he told her and to protect him above all costs. Which she would do.

(OOC: This thread is after the one in the Trophy Room, after Cobalt has come in to fetch Charlottes double)

Viktor had followed the two Smiths as well as he could and, fortunately for him, he was a good tracker. Finding that their trail stopped at a closed door, Viktor grinned and readied his wand. With an almighty roar, Viktor sent a burst of fiendfyre at the door, breaking it down as he laughed with glee,

"FOUND YOU!"

Charlotte still looked blankly between the two men, the memories of herself told her that she had met both of them, the man who was nearest her was her father, the man who had just entered was a threat, he had hurt her before.

Standing completely still until she was told to do something different Charlotte didn't even blink, she wondered if they were going to fight each other, and hoped she wouldn't be hurt.

Cobalt swore as the german broke down the door to him and Charlotte. If he was honest he'd expected the german to follow them to this room, especially since he'd been able to smell the man coming for them. He glanced at Charlotte,

"Stay in the corner or something Char...." he suggested as he held his wand at the ready, "But the first time you think you can make it you run away alright?"

Turning his entire attention back on the german who had run after them, he slashed at him with his wand,

"Defundio!" he declared, sounding the gouging curses at his opponent, "Defindo! Defindo! Defindo!"

Viktor grinned wickedly at Charlotte, hiding behind Cobalt. The anger was back in full control and he knew that he'd need it in order to stand a chance of beating Cobalt,

"You'll die with your innocent little mind intact little Charlotte!" he cooed mockingly, "Then you'll always see the world as you see it now!"

Gripping his wand, he brought up a shield to stop all of Cobalt's attacks, wincing when one of the cutting curses broke the shield and still had enough force to give him a weak cut to his left arm,

"Try this on for size! Incendio!" he shot a fireball at Cobalt before grinning and pointing his wand at Charlottle, "Defindo!"

Cobalt gritted his teeth in an angry snarl. Charlotte had told him what this man had put her through at the maze and he was beyond angry at the time, let along now. He growled in anger,

"Shut up!" he roared at Viktor, "You don't get to speak to her!"

When Viktor sent a blast of fire at him, Cobalt countered by sending a burst of water to combat the flames. His eyes widened when he realised that the second attack wasn't even aimed at him,

"Charlotte!" he cried out and threw himself in the way of the attack, taking a nasty cut to the torso, "Sectumsempra!"

Charlotte blinked and registered that her father was being hurt, just like her controller had said to her she readied herself to attack the man who was hurting her father.

Her father had been caught in the chest trying to protect her and she only blinked and stepped forwards ready to do something if she was needed, Charlottes double opened her mouth to speak before she realised that she couldn't and raised an imaginary wand.

Viktor grinned savagely. Getting a hit on Cobalt wasn't what he'd intended but it was just fine by him. After all, the assassin/teacher was the bigger threat here by far. His eyes widened however when Cobalt quickly countered with a darker cutting curse,

"Son of a-" before he could finish the swearing, the curse hit him in the chest, causing several deep cuts to form all over his chest, "Argh!"

He was bleeding heavily now and he knew it. However, he knew that he still had enough strength to end it. Raising his wand, he pointed it at Cobalt,

"Sectumsempra!" he cried, slashing his wand weakly. Of course he didn't expect it to actually hurt Cobalt. That was why he'd aimed it at Charlotte.

Cobalt grinned wickedly when he caught Viktor full on in the chest with the dark cutting curse. There was no one more deserving of that curse than the german right now. His grin changed however when Viktor fired the same curse back. He smiled faintly when the curse passed over his head before his eyes widened and his smile disappeared as he remembered that Charlotte was directly behind him,

"Charlotte!"

He spun round and his eyes widened even more. The spell had been pretty weak but it was enough to do a lot of damage to such a small body. She now had three bloody gauges across her chest. Cobalt tried to say something as she stumbled towards him but all that came out was a choked sound. She fell forwards and Cobalt caught her, his voice returning,

"No... no no no no no no no!" he denied it, each time getting louder and louder, "NO! Not my little girl! Not my Charlotte!"

Charlotte as she had seen the curse come towards her father had moved in front of him with a sudden lurch, immediately she felt three thuds impact on her chest, she looked down and blinked a few times, not registering what had happened at all.

A small noise escaped her and she felt herself growing weaker, then, all of a sudden as she was embraced in her fathers arms Charlotte dissappeared, a soft poofing sound could be heard and all that was left was a few spattered and bloody prints on the floor where she had been lying.

Viktor had been laughing. Laughing through his pain and injuries at the tragic scene. He really hated Cobalt. He really hated how a man as bad as himself had ended up with something so pure as Charlotte. And if he couldn't haven't someone that pure as his child then Cobalt didn't deserve to either!

But his laughter stopped immediately when Charlotte... disappeared. His eyes widened and he lurched forwards, coughing up blood.

He didn't understand... what had happened?! She was right there!

Charlotte was in his arms one minute and the next all that was in her place was a few splotches of paint. He blinked a few times as he tried to understand what the hell had just happened. Just as he was about to assume he'd gone mad, a tugging at his brain told him something.

Charlotte's bracelet had been activated, telling him about her situation. It wasn't good but it certainly wasn't "Disappeared without a trace". Then it clicked for him. Charlotte's magical painting skills... she must have perfected a technique with them to copy herself!

Happy that his daughter was alright, Cobalt stood up with a smile and rushed from the room, phasing through the wall rather than using the door.

His daughter was alive in the slytherin common room!
