Background Information:

Aria was raised in an unusual household. She was named 'Aria' after the opera whom her mother loved more than anything. Her mother was never in the picture really, concentrating on herself rather than being a nurturing individual. Her mother had two sons older (Alec and Jules) than Aria and she was the youngest and the last child that her mother would be interested in having.
Her father never really concentrated on her either. Everyone deemed him the “Ice Man” for his cold demeanor and his aloofness to his children’s needs. He worked for the Ministry and never really was there, except when it came to reprimanding and educating the children in manners. For one thing, they were told to raise themselves in a dignified manner, because having their last name meant having to deal with many individuals. Aria always looked up to him, and his gift to observe what was wrong with an individual, to what their habits were, to their weaknesses.
Once she entered Hogwarts, her brothers were never really that close to her, preferring to stay with their friends. It surprising her considering how fake they were when interacting with their friends. In reality Alec and Jules were just putting an act for these people, to lead them, and to get their way. She never knew why it was necessary, so she ignored it, preferring to instead stay alone in the library. Many thought that rather than Slytherin she should have been a Ravenclaw because of her love of books. In reality, she preferred hiding out because she was too awkward to interact. Being an outcast did hurt her, but not enough for her to do something (even if she tried it’d be awkward).

Like her father she had an addictive personality. She began with the easiest thing to get: alcohol. She found herself disliking it because her coordination was impaired and the next day she found herself having massive headaches and having her spit up everything from her stomach. It never really impaired her class work, but it did affect her attendance at Hogwarts. Firewhiskey turned out to be her vise. From her father she began smoking fine cigars. She wanted to know why it was so interesting. She found out she liked the euphoric feeling, and did it for a few of her teen years until her father found out.
Despite knowing how much of a hypocrite he was being, he forced her to quit. She found an alternate way of getting the rush through patches. Her favorite thing about youth and her school was that many had a way of bringing in muggle objects. She found herself wanting that rush that was faster, like a roller coaster. She would find her mind turning quiet and everything was a hazy and happy and soothing. She tried marijuana, then cocaine, sadly, she found herself twitching and scratching her skin. The one thing she never did was share needles, too messy and she didn't want to know the side-effects of sharing. Till this day she found herself having some marks in her arm from heroine use. If anyone asks she says that the light dots were birthmarks.

By her last year at Hogwarts she had quit, enough to get internships from her father. She refused all of them, not wanting to be part of the Ministry, especially not living off of her name. She was not one to thrive in her families shadows. Her two siblings were already Aurors, and she found herself wondering what she would do. Three years after graduating, she finds herself just having a flat, jumping from hobby to hobby wondering what to do with her life that makes her fulfilled. If necessary, she works “free-lance” for her father in the healing department but she refuses to be called a healer. She only works if she really needs money, but her father would rather support her for the rest of her life than have her living in poverty and shaming them.
