Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Lesson One - Seventh Years

Post by Richard Romain Sun Jan 06, 2013 11:15 pm

Richard sighed a little bit as he sank back down into his chair. It had been the entire summer since he had last sat down in this chair and it felt like years since he had just sat down. What with all of his frantic work to try and develop a cure for the disease, he had never had time to relax. No that wasn't true. He didn't allow himself the time to relax. Every death that occured while he 'relaxed' would have been on his conscience, he knew, even if it wasn't he fault.

He rested in his chair for now, content in the knowledge that the cure was getting closer and closer. Now he could ease off a little bit and teach as there was little he could do to help make the cure now. It was all beyond him now. But teaching the next generation? Ah that was never beyond him.

But this was their last year at Hogwarts now. After this they would be allowed to enter the world at large and he had to, jokingly, ask if the world was ready for their arrival. Merlin knew his class could be a handful.

Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Seventh Years

Post by Naomi Narcissa Night Mon Jan 07, 2013 11:45 pm

Naomi was hoping that this year she could finally get some more work done then usual. Often she worried about all the attacks but now she didn't need to and could finally concentrate on her lessons.

Slipping into the classroom, Naomi went to the front where she usually sat. "Good Morning Professor." She said taking out her quill, ink, Transfiguration Book and parchment she set them down on her desk and relaxed slightly.

Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Seventh Years

Post by Humphrey Williams Tue Jan 08, 2013 3:45 am

Humphrey walked towards the Transfiguration classroom, eager to start school again. He'd always loved learning, and though Transfiguration was one of the more difficult subjects he'd always found it one of the most rewarding. In fact, he was actually a registered animagus, though few knew that.

He was a couple minutes early and he decided to take a seat next to his fellow Gryffindor Naomi. She had always kept a bit more to herself than most students, but they had talked a couple random times over the years. Professor Romain looked a bit better than he had last year, the man had been through a tough time. Taking his seat and pulling out his things, he got ready for class.

"Morning Professor Romain, I can't believe this is the beginning of our last year in here." he said, still a bit in shock that this was his seventh year. Time really did seem to fly when he was here, there was never enough time at Hogwarts, at at least for him. Then he turned to Naomi and gave her a cheerful wave before just patiently waiting for the others to arrive and class to start.

Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Seventh Years

Airen entered the classroom. He was a bit sad that this was his last year here, but he hoped that he would be able to visit from time to time. He took his normal seat at the front of the classroom, giving friendly nods to Humphrey and Naomi on his journey there. He looked up at the professor. He often wondered how a man could have so much going on in his life, and still maintain that same demeanor that all his students knew.

"Good morning, sir," he greeted. He plucked out his textbook and set it down on the desk. He sat and simply waited for class to begin while he reflected on his time here in Great Britain.

Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Seventh Years

Post by Charlotte Smith Wed Jan 09, 2013 12:27 am

Charlotte wandered into the first lesson of the new year, she had done well in her examinations last year and she was very happy that she could have done so well, she had made Cobalt pround and Viktor was proud too, she had gone out for a nice meal to celebrate as well, but she needed to knuckle down harder this year, it was the most important after all.

Sitting in her usual seat she gave a small smile to everyone in the room and then began to get out her things, she wanted to make sure that she got an early start in studying this year, it would be better when it came to revising when exams came around. Sucking on her lip peircings when she opened her book to begin reading again.

Post by Tabi Ann Prewett Thu Jan 10, 2013 10:22 am

Tabi walked into Transfiguration class and took a seat in the back of the classroom. She was so glad this was her last year. It had just not been the same since her sister died and most days she wished she would just kill herself and put herself out of her own misery.

She opened up her book and waited for class to start.

Lesson One - Seventh Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Seventh Years

Richard chuckled a little bit at Humphrey when he commented on the fact that it seemed to have snuck up on them. He would never have thought that it would arrive this quickly either,

"Yeah it's passed really quite quickly hasn't it guys?" he asked with a small smile, "But it's been fun right? Anyway... guess I'd best teach you something instead of just reminising."

Coughing a little bit, Richard grew a little bit more serious. They were old enough for something new now,

"This year I'm going to do something new." he told them seriously, "I'm going to be teaching you some of my own spells. Some of my own techniques. Now be warned; most of my spells are self transfiguration. You will have to be extremely careful... but I have faith in you."

He turned to the board and wrote the name of the spell; Michael's Wings. Below that he began to quickly write up the wand motions; left flick, left flick, down flick, left flick, clockwise turn, clockwise turn, hold wand absolutely still. He turned to them and went through the wand motions.

There was a moment where nothing happened.

Before two massive wings of grey stone burst out the back of his clothes. He rolled his neck a little bit and the stone wings moved, imitating lifelike actions,

"Now. Don't be confused, though they may look like wings they are NOT for flying." he told them seriously, "Don't even attempt it. They're solid stone. The reason why it's a good spell is that they have limited intelligence. They respond to threats. If Charlotte was to throw a curse at me right now one, or both, of my 'wings' would move to block it. Make sure you have plenty of room when you practice."
