Alonzo was born and raised in a wand-making family, and by the time he was 16 he had taken over the family business. He is the first nephew of the Old Ollivander and has shown great talent and intrigue when it comes to wandlore. He has a knack for finding magical woods suitable for powerful wands, and takes great pride in his work. He's found that he would like to teach students his trade, and takes great pleasure in hunting down ice cream parlours to try out interesting combinations of ice cream.

He lived a peaceful childhood, and was in Ravenclaw at Hogwarts. His mother died when he was born, and his father never remarried, and never talked about her. So, Alonzo has no idea what even her name was. Alonzo has made it a long-term goal to find out who she was, but so far there have been no records whatsoever.
