Potion: Lesson Four,Second Years Empty Potion: Lesson Four,Second Years

As Angel sat down on her chair, she wondered which of the students remembered their assignment and which didn't. She remembered clearly last year two students were oblivious to the assignment and she wondered what would it be this year.

'Antidote to Uncommon Poisons' was clearly written on the board and she waited patiently.

Walking into the classroom he was surprised at how no one was there yet. He stumbled a bit as he carried all the ingredients with him, he thanked Merlin he remembered about it.

"Morning" he said and sat down taking out the ingredients.

Xander walked into class with a pep in his step. They were almost done with the year and the summer held so many possibilities. Grabbing the seat next to Luke, he smiled at him.

"Bloody little billywigs gave us some trouble, eh?" Over the weekend they had gathered the ingredients together. Xander had been glad to have someone to work with outside of class.

Putting all his ingredients out, Xander waited for class to begin.

Angel realized that either the other students were late or they were ditching their class. Sighing, she began to class.

"I am glad that the two of you not only came to class but managed to remember your ingredients, good five points each" she said.

She moved her hand and the doors locked up.

"Now that you've gotten the ingredients, we will begin your individual work. Make sure you have:

-Fire Seeds
-Powdered Graphorn Horn
-Billywig stings
-Chizpurfle carapaces"

She then waved her hand and the potion list began to form:

-Add four cups of Dragon Blood and let it boil at 120 degrees.
-Once it boils, add eight fireseeds and cover the cauldron immediately because they will pop.
-Wait until the popping noises end and meanwhile shave the Graphorn horn till it is 4 ounces.
-Mix it in and a purple shade will occur
-Take out your dead Billywigs and take off their stingers carefully. If you get poked you will float and points will be removed immediately.
-Once it turns a dark blue, you will wait ten minutes and record it's changes.
-Add twenty dead Chizpurfle into the cauldron and simmer it down to 80 degrees and keep lowering it down every minute until it reaches 70.

"I am glad you succeeded in the scavenger hunt. And now you may start working on your potion individually. Begin!"

Xander found it funny that it was the pair of them, just like Herbology. Shooting his usual smirk at Luke, he went to the cupboard to retrieve the rest of the ingredients needed.

After counting everything out carefully and preppy all of his ingredients, he started the process. His father had always stressed to him to prepare as much as possible. Especially since some spells were very dependent on the quick addition of some ingredients.

He was happy to be able to work quietly, in peace. It seemed like he never got much time to simply practice what he loved most: potion making. As he neared the end he pulled out an old fashioned pocket watch that his mother had gotten for him a few years ago just for this purpose.

Happy with his work, he waited for the lesson to end. Since it was the two of them, he approached the professor's desk. "I was wondering, Professor Valentine, if you will be taking on any apprentices next year. If so, I wanted to let you know that I am very interested."
