Don't Leave Me Behind (Closed)

Salina could feel herself fading into her memories as she sat outside, the darkened sky a perfect example of her mood. The black clouds of storm drifted in front of the sun, completely blocking its rays from view. Her eyes turned upwards as she looked at the sky, many different memories flashing through her mind. Reliving her memories made her heart ache, but they were all she had left of her coma induced sœur...

A small girl stood tall and proud. At age 6, Salina was a very confident young girl, her views on life already shaped by her parents who had forced them upon her - whether she liked it or not. Never had she questioned the views imposed on her, and she didn't think they were wrong at all. Her brown eyes looked up at Jaqui as she stopped walking, her curly locks of brown bouncing slightly.

"Non, ma sœur," Jaqui hissed, holding up a hand for Salina to stop walking. Salina tilted her head, confusion written all over her face. Jaqui repeated her previous words again, but softer this time, and Salina felt warmth suddenly. Corinne was coming back! "Non?" Salina persisted, and with a smile Jaqui nodded her head. That meant that her sister was not coming back late, as Salina had previously been told.

Happiness lit up the girls face and she began to squeal and jump up and down, running towards the house with Jaqui in tow. The door was opened by their doorman, and he bowed low to Salina who ignored him as she ran inside. Upon seeing Corinne, her own curly brown hair held up in a messy ponytail, Salina let out a noise of joy and ran for her. Corinne swivelled around and caught her twin as she flew into her arms.

The two girls held each other as they squealed, happiness on their faces as they began speaking in fluent french, asking how each other were, Salina begging for details about Corinne's camp, and other topics. "J'aime tu, ma sœur," Salina mumbled after several minutes of squealing and gossiping - even at such a young age the girls were already acting like teenagers. Corinne smiled softly and hugged Salina again. "J'aime tu." Corinne said back.

Then, Corinne grabbed Salina's hand and dragged her outside to the pond out the back. Bending down, Corinne pointed at a fish that Salina had never seen before. It was blue with silver streaks on it, and Salina gasped in delight. "C'est pour vous," said Corinne, and Salina enveloped her twin in a hug, thanking her repeatedly.

"C'est beau." Salina murmured, resting her head on Corinne's shoulder, and Corinne on her head. There was an 'aww' from behind the twins, and they turned to see Jaqui smiling at them both. The twins motioned their older sister over, and the three sat together, arms around each other as they watched the fish swim about.

Salina's eyes flashed open as the tears slid down her cheeks. Her chest began to ache and she clutched at it, sobs wracking her body as she buried her face in her knees. Looking up at the sky, she felt in that moment as if her sister were dead. She knew that the spell that had been cast normally lasted a very long time, so her sister was as good as.
