Hair Style and Colour
Eye Colour: with light skin, Delft blue eyes, slightly rosy cheeks and very light brown hair. Her hair is usually either braided or in a bun at the back of her neck. She hates to have it loose and in her face, but refuses to cut it so it is currently at her waist and growing.
Height: Annika is about 5' tall
Build: She is of slight build and looks fragile but because she walks, skis or hikes whenever she has a chance she is not the 'delicate flower' her father laughingly calls her.
Dress Sense: Annika likes the full, long drindl skirts that are her native dress, but gives in to jeans or ski pants when forced to by circumstances, or her mother. She wears sensible black flat shoes and white knee high socks at all times.
Other (Tattoo's etc): Although you can't see it, Annika is slightly hard of hearing and when she was younger her father used magic to help her hear to learn, but she has told him in no uncertain terms that he was to quit, so she could get used to dealing with it before school started.



Character Information:

Character Likes: Because of her hearing loss she learned to read early and that is her greatest pleasure in life. She has read the life of 'Igor Karkoff', 'The Power of Durmstrang' and her first years potion book 'Magical Drafts and Potions' by Arsenius Jigger which she borrowed from her cousin Adelheide. She also likes to do handi-work and makes most of her own clothes and bags to carry her magical items with her.
Character Dislikes: She really dislikes boys, because the ones in her home town have bullied her because she can out run them, ski better than them and is better in school. They call her things like 'boy wanna be,' and 'know it all.' She also refuses to eat broccoli or bananas.
Hobbies: Making magic pouches for her friends and she loves to make cauldron cakes for any special occaision she can manufacture.
Strengths: She is very book smart, has learned to do a few spells just by watching her parents, she's a loyal friend and once you are her friend you are for life unless you hurt her past a certain point. But she forgives easily and so has a large circle of close friends in her home town.
Weaknesses: Because of her hearing loss she sometimes doesn't hear the things that are taught. This in turn frustrates her and she becomes anxious and depressed. But if the proffesors are patient and sit her to the front, she will do exceptionally well.

School: Durmstrang

Favourite Lesson: She is looking forward to showing off her wand skills in spells, but also is very curious about transfiguration, and herbology and how they can work together.
Least Favourite Lesson: Not much interested in learning divination or astrology, but really doesn't know much about them as they were forbidden in her home.

Character Background:
Annika's parents are pure blood and live in a village that is mostly witch and wizard families. She was taught the history of her proud people from a very young age by her father who is a history teacher at the wizarding school in town. Her mother is a seamstress and makes the most exquisit robes and posh frocks in the whole area. Her clients often are muggles and Annika was taught they were to be treated well, kind of like a child with disabilities and to show them kindness and a touch of pity. She has a few chores, but mostly a free and happy life which is spent outdoors with the wild animals in the forest surrounding their small village.

Mother: Mother's name is Emmaline and she is a mere 29 years of age. She married young (17 just days after she graduated from school and the day before her birthday). She is a pure blood from a long line of well known witches and wizards who were known for their excellent gardening and the home arts.
Father: Simeon Gegori is a tall, very handsome blonde with emerald green eyes and a strong build. He is teacher of magical history and music at the local school of magic. He is a kind man and the students love him. His classes are always popular. He is a 2nd cousin to Igor Karkaroff, but because their mothers didn't get along, they now don't recognize the relationship.

Siblings: Annika has two younger sisters. Uli is nine and a real tomboy. Larger built than Annika she gets stuck with the heavier chores in the yard and animal enclosures. She is an average student and a great companion for Annika. Her youngest sister Brigitta is only two and just learning to talk and walk, making her quite the little pest. Whenever mother is busy she follows Annika around and keeps asking 'why' or 'how' all day long.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend: She hates the boys for the time being. Her best friend isn't going to school this year, she is ten yearold Margarette who lives across the field from her home.
