Shooting In The Dark (OPEN)

"Great,"he smiled.He just hoped that he was free on whenever it was.Hospital working hours could get pretty bad and you never know when there could be a medical emergency especially since the creatures had started attacking.

"I'll try to make it,"Lessi said.It was Easter holidays so she probably would make it unless she forgot.

Esmerelda was glad that her two new friends would be able to come to her show, she was always glad to have new fans and she was always happy to show her work to people. Hopefully they would enjoy it and they would be able to take some of her photo's home with them, the ones they liked that is.

"I would be very happy if you could both make it." she smiled gently "Although I understand that you both could be busy with assignments and with medical emergencies and what not."

Looking around the hospital ward they were in Esmerelda smile gently, it was making her sad being in a hospital for so long, but there was nothing to be done about it.

"What kind of things do you like art to be about? Do you like photos of people, places...things? I might take some inspiration from you." she grinned.

"Gee I never really thought about it.I like sky and scenery photos the most."

"I like photos that aren't making funny faces at me one of the down sides of the wizarding world having moving photos I guess."

Esmerelda nodded her head when Lessi told her some of the things she liked photographs of, it wasn't surprising because she liked flying and Quidditch, the sky would be something that she would enjoy very much. She had a collection of scenery photos a few months ago at exhibit but unfortunately they had all sold out.

Laughing slightly when Milfred told her that he didn't really like Wizarding photos Esmerelda shook her head, she hardly ever used wizarding film, she just didn't like using it.

"Well I'm pretty sure that I could rustle up some photographs for you guys, as presents for your birthdays or Christmas, I never use wizarding film so no need to worry about the funny faces."

"That sounds like a lot of trouble to go to for birthday presents.You don't even know when our birthdays are,"he pointed out."My birthday is June 4th by the way."

"My birthay is October 30th."

Esmerelda made a mental note of when their birthdays were, she wasn't very good with remembering dates but she would give it a go, some people thought that was why she became an artist, because her memory was so bad she was always bad at school with spells and potion ingredients.

"Alright thanks guys, I'll make sure to remember but try to remind me a few times, I'm hopeless when it comes to remembering things like dates, History of Magic was not my best subject." she sighed gently.

Shrugging her shoulders she added; "I don't really mind putting the effort into friends presents, photographs are my specialty so what better than one that is exclusive to you."

"That's sweet of you.So when's your birthday?"

Esmerelda tapped her chin and looked at Milfred warily when he asked when her Birthday was, after all she didn't want him getting her anything, most people when they asked her that wanted to know so that they could buy her a present in return, and she hated getting presents, especially if they were expensive.

"Well it's on the 14th November, but if you're thinking of buying me anything you can stop that thought right there, I prefer to have like...little favours done for me or something like that." she grinned.

"Oh.Really?Like what?"Most people he knew liked getting presents.

Esmerelda thought of the things that she normally liked getting for her birthday, she preferred getting taken out to interesting places, or maybe someone would be able to pay her back when she needed abig favour, or when something broke and she needed them to fix it.

"Well normally I like being taken out to places, maybe for a meal or something, last year my friends took me out for a picnic in the Faerie Glade, I don';t know why but I prefer doing things that would make memories, rather than having something sitting in a drawer because I wont use it." she shrugged with a small smile.

"You have a point.The memories do sound like more fun."

Esmerelda nodded her head happily, she did think that she had a point there, and that was why she often gave away the presents she recieved, unless they were truly special then of course she kept them and made sure that they were nice and safe.

Wondering if Lessi was okay, as she was being very quiet, Esmerelda sent a small smile her way and asked; "What kinds of things do you guys like getting for your birthdays? Lessi you probably like Quidditch related things." she grinned.

"Yeah. But I could never give away a present what if the person who gave me the present found out?"

Esmerelda grinned a little bit, she often gave her presents away to charity, because the people who tended to give her them didn't really know her that well, and probably would never find out that she had given it away, or would really care when it came down to it. But she had to admit Lessi had a point.

"Well mostly I give them away to charities and stuff, besides all of the people who get me presents don't see me that often, and don't know me that well so, it's not that big of a problem." she grinned.

"Your lucky,if I threw out a present from someone they'd defiantly find out."He kept most of the bad presents he got locked in a chest but he tended to keep that secret because otherwise people would kill him for putting their present there.

Esmerelda laughed softly, she liked the way that although her and Milfred seemed to be different in the way they did it, both of them still put their presents they didn't want somewhere they would never have to see them, although she didn't know for sure, she had an inkling that it was something that he would do.

"Ah well it's not for everyone." she smiled lightly "So, in what area of the hospital do you do the most work Milfred? You must have a sort of specialist area." Esmerelda asked, interested in learning more about the healing profession.

(Milfred didn't her about how he hide bad presents can she read minds? )
"Physical maladies," he answered.

(No she said she didn't know for sure, she was just guessing that's what he might do ^^)

Esmerelda sighed a little bit, trying to talk to Milfred sometimes seemed like trying to get blood out of a stone, he gave such short answers to everything she wondered if he really wanted to talk to her, or just wanted someone to stand next to so he wouldn't seem like he had come here alone.

"And have you had many people admitted with some weird and wonderful physical injuries or can't you tell me?" she asked with some small amount of interest "I suppose you're all working hard on trying to come up with some new information on that virus I've heard rumours about?"

"I haven't had many people admitted with a strange and wonderful injury,but I don't really consider injuries wonderful.Yeah all the doctors are working hard on that but I think it will take a while to find the cure." If there was a cure of course,he thought but didn't say after all he didn't want to worry her or his sister.

Esmerelda was interested in the virus and she had thought that it might be a good thing to do some art work on, some abstracts of the virus would be something that would sell well with the times, even though she didn't often think of money first, she couldn't deny that this was true.

Shrugging her shoulders, Esmerelda grinned, she had seen some very strange injuries in her time, and she was glad that she would be able to hear about some of them during her friendship with Milfred, if he was even allowed to tell her, patient confidentiality after all.

"Well not serious ones, but there are some funny ones that I see on those muggle TV shows about Accident and Emergency admissions." she smirked a little "I guess it's going to take a while to come up with a cure, it's a new virus after all, it always does, but one always comes about."

It still seemed mean to him to find injuries funny but he supposed that some where pretty funny.He hoped that she was right he had a bad feeling about this virus not that he ever got a good feeling about a virus."Yeah viruses are hard to make a cure for."

Esmerelda was not liking the sound of this whole virsus thing. She considered herself an educated woman and as such she knew things about viruses in the vaguest of terms. But even the limited knowledge she possessed told her that they were dangerous, very dangerous. After all, a virus could not be attacked by antibiotics because it was more like a parasite, it lived inside cells when it was reproducing,

"You have to target infected cells don't you?" she muttered with a small shrug, "That's about as much as I know. Viruses and things like that are hard..."
